Dear Mountain Dew,

I know we have been together for a long time, in fact you have been with me throughout most of my life. I can’t remember an adventure that you weren’t present. All these years you have been with me to cool me down after a long hike, you were there to keep me going at night as I drove to Montana all these years. You have been there when nothing else was available to help quench my thirst. You have been so good to me and it pains me to say that our time has come to an end. I am sure this will give me headaches over my decision, I just can’t continue. Because I have spent so much time with you, I am starting to look like you. I am not saying you look bad, you actually look very good for a bottle of one of the best tasty cold beverages ever. The problem is that now I am looking like a one liter bottle and a man just shouldn’t look like that, so my wife tells me. I hope we can be friends and maybe hang out once in a while, maybe at a BBQ or some other gathering of that nature. I may even need your companionship for an all night drive to montana but our relationship has to end there. I have a hunting season coming up soon and it requires me to lose 15 or so pounds and you are a major part of that problem. Yes, that is the only problem you have ever been in my life. Thank you for all the years of excitement and adventure and hanging with me through it all. Just a little ways up the coast from this outfitter there’s an invisible line dividing Grizzlies from Brown Bears. Why does this matter to the trophy hunter? Well, their bears are as big as Brown Bears, but still biologically classified as Grizzlies. This means they have huge Grizzlies! In fact, your chances of taking a Boone and Crocket Grizzly in our this are better than your chances of not taking one. The average mature boar in this area squares over 9 feet, while 10 ½ footers are available. Skull sizes range from 23 to 26 inches.  This hunt is 10 days fully guided.

Every year we harvest many bears in the 6 ½ to 7 foot range, with several bears topping 7 ½ feet. Skull sizes range from 18 to 21 inches.  Hunts are conducted using spot and stalk methods only. We’ve found that there are few things more exciting than finding yourself face-to-face with a big coastal bear! The color phase of our bears is usually black; however, every year we take several large chocolate-colored bears. There is a two bear limit in B.C., so a second bear can be taken on a trophy fee basis.
